Get to Know: 4 Sustainable Brands

Following on from my previous post, I thought I’d specifically mention four fab brands whilst you continue to curb your unhealthy fast-fashion habit. Hold tight.

Vintage Designer Goods:

Nordic Poetry

I came across one of their two shops whilst mulling around Boxpark Shoreditch last summer. Nordic Poetry is a vintage retailer which offers some gems – they sell classic Burberry scarves ranging from £45-£60. If you ever want to REALLY treat yo’self, keep an eye on their website as you may be able to snag a vintage Burberry trench coat for a little over £100. Not bad for a necessary investment, eh?

This vintage retailer has a great shop on York’s Goodramgate and a recently-opened premises in Hull, selling it’s own branded T-Shirts and Jumpers alongside an eclectic array of causal pre-loved goods. To feed your vintage needs, you don’t have to break the bank here.

Blue Rinse

This was a good ol’ go-to when I lived in Leeds. The vibrant vintage seller also has a shop on Oldham Street in Manchester. You can pretty much find anything and everything in this place; jumpers, tees, denim and pre-loved footwear. Everything in-store is also so damn colourful.

Blue Rinse run regular kilo sales around Leeds (Holy Trinity Church/Church Leeds), London (POP Brixton) and Manchester (Sachas Hotel) if you want to have a proper sift through and grab a bargain.

They also have regular sales, so keep an eye on their website.

This brand definitely embodies the ‘less is more’ mantra. Olive Clothing offer an array of garms for anyone who wants to look impeccable. With neutral colours on their clean-cut products, this is an ethically conscious brand which makes simplicity look chic. Olive Clothing is also a great go-to if you need an investment piece; whether it be a quality coat, jacket or pair of smart trousers for your working day.
